Designer. Photographer. Artist. Cat mom.
I grew up on a small family farm on the east side of Michigan. I was born in Detroit, but when I was six, my dad built a huge house in the country and we moved far away from the city.
On our little farm, every day was an adventure! In the spring, the ditch out by the road filled up with tadpoles, and every year we were amazed as they grew into frogs and toads.
We had a little chicken house out back, where we would gather eggs for our breakfast. My dad showed us how to bring eggs inside and put them under incubator lamps, and watch chickens grow inside until they hatched into baby chicks!
We fed pigs that would one day feed us.
We rode horses down the dirt roads, and caught fish under bridges with bamboo poles.
Every fall we picked beans, tomatoes, peppers, peas and cucumbers. My mom canned everything that we couldn’t eat right away and put it in the pantry for cold winter days.
My parents taught us about life and nature on the farm, and my love of nature is what inspires me as an artist today.
